Newport has this unique ability to miss many of the thunderstorms that travel over our region. Many times we have forecast of thunderstorms and they travel to our North leaving Newport free of severe weather. Today was a perfect example there were forecast of thunderstorms and showers all day and we had the most amazing beautiful sunny day with all of the rain storms moving to the north. So if you schedule a trip or are afraid to because of weather just remember that many times storms go to our north and we end up with a beautiful day.
